Our Philosophy

Our Approach

At Access Life America, we are working to fulfill our vision of a world in which no family faces resource constraints in their battle against pediatric cancer, and in light of recent events, even other conditions like COVID-19. Our purpose is driven by visible disparities in access to care for underprivileged people. We achieve our vision by funding access to safety, wellness, and convenience for cancer patients and their families in India, and by consistently volunteering in our local communities in America to support families affected by
COVID-19.

We approach our work at Access Life America with these four values in mind:

Access Life America is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID 47-3320323)

Access

Provide practical support to patients and their caregivers so they can focus on recovery instead of finding food, shelter, and other bare necessities

Education

Build awareness of foundational elements of stability and healing, through nurturing both patient and the patient’s support system

Transparency

Offer financial transparency to donors, sponsors, and supporters of ALA with the intent to build trust in the greater medical nonprofit community

Community

Grow our community of people helping people and connect helpers across the world to foster a global community of giving and growth

Our Vision

We founded Access Life Foundation in 2014 with one center in Mumbai that housed 8 children and their families. Over the past 8 years, we added 6 more centers in different locations in India (Mumbai – 3, Pune – 1, Manipal – 1, Chandigarh – 1, Bengaluru – 1) catering to pediatric cancer patients who come to these metro cities from all over India to receive treatment at well reputed hospitals like Tata Memorial Hospital, PGI, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital.

Our 7 centers in India now accommodate 120 children and their families to serve a total of around 300 lives. We have also expanded our services from providing basic amenities like safe housing and convenient transportation options to now include services like comprehensive sanitation kits to help patients stave away infection as they recover from surgery, nutrition counseling for young adults to support healthy recovery and healthy eating habits, and emotional support counseling for family members and caregivers who live with our patients through their recovery.

Our vision is one in which no child is separated from their family by resource constraints during the course of their battle against disease. We recognize the importance of not only supporting children as they learn about the changes that are happening to their bodies, but also the value of ensuring that the child’s support system are able to be present physically, mentally, and emotionally on their road to recovery.

In America we have found a similar purpose in serving families in need in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Houston, and Boston. Our hope is that with the support of caring people like you, that we can continue to grow our facilities and services in India, and that we can grow our impact to communities in America, as well.
